DOC: Barbera del Monferrato Minola
This Barbera comes from the Minola vineyard in the “Barbera” area of the Vignale Monferrato municipality. Its south-facing, sheltered position and loose soil makes this vineyard, with old vines, perfectly suited for this varietal. The grapes are harvested by hand and the must is kept in alcoholic maceration for more than two weeks, then, after a few filtration cycles, it is moved to small French oak barrels where it is aged for 12 months.
The wine ages in the bottle for at least another 6 months in the estate cellar before sold.
In case a vintage is considered unsuitable for long cellaring, the barbera Minola is not produced.
