Domaine Eugène Meyer

The Meyer family has been making wine since 1620 in Bergholtz in southern Alsace on approximately 22 acres of land bought by the family after the French Revolution. With a 350 year-old tradition of making wine, in 1969 Eugene Meyer changed business as usual and began farming the vines biodynamically. The practice of Biodynamics respects nature and environment by eliminating all synthetic chemical products in the vineyard and treats the vineyard as a self-sustaining, living organism.

The Domaine is certified by Demeter for biodynamic methods and by Ecocert in 1991 for organic production.
